From empowering youth to preserving history to feeding hungry neighbors, thousands of nonprofits are making a daily impact in their communities and across the country. The teams powering these organizations work hard to raise awareness of their missions. Read how promotional products for nonprofits helped four organizations spread the word.
Providing opportunities for young women to learn and grow
Young Women LEAD opens in new window was established in the Cincinnati and Louisville areas to help instill confidence and leadership abilities in high school girls. The nonprofit provides opportunities in leadership, education and development (LEAD) through conferences and clubs. In the 15 years since its launch, Young Women LEAD has hosted 67 conferences and reached more 46,000 girls.
A 4imprint one by one® grant provided drawstring sportpacks that were used as conference swag bags for a fall gathering of 350 girls in Ashland, Kentucky. Each bag, imprinted with the organization’s logo, included a copy of the keynote speaker’s book, a T-shirt and giveaway items from local businesses.
Preserving history on a picturesque peninsula
Door County Historical Society opens in new window is a nonprofit dedicated to the collecting, maintaining and sharing of the history and heritage of Wisconsin’s Door County. The society operates two interpretive sites: a village of nine historic or recreated buildings and a lighthouse museum in a state park.
A one by one grant provided the organization with beer steins, which were sold at an annual Root Beer Festival fundraiser. An example of fun and functional swag for nonprofits, the steins allowed patrons to enjoy root beer at the event, then have a keepsake to remember the experience.
Supporting youth through work with animals
Hand2Paw opens in new window is a Philadelphia nonprofit offering young people paid internships working with animals as well as programming to help promote coping skills, emotional regulation and healing using animal-assisted interventions. With help from rescue animals, the programs build connections, compassion and community for young adults from underrepresented areas.
A one by one grant provided pet bag dispensers that were handed out at a youth-led pet pantry program, which distributed pet food, supplies and other items. The dispensers, given to community members, are functional and help spread the word about Hand2Paw.
Serving community members living with hunger
The Brightside Project opens in new window was launched in Ohio in 2016 by the father-daughter team of Scott Lewis and Lisa Vittorio. After recognizing a need in their county, where more than 19% of children live in poverty, they were inspired to act. Along with providing food and supplies, the organization works to build resiliency in children and empower them to reach their full potential.
A one by one grant provided drawstring sportpacks used for a mobile food pantry program. The bags were imprinted with uplifting messages and offer a safe and sturdy way for the children to carry food and supplies back home.
